It's Here! It's Here! It's Finally Here!

It’s Here! Today is finally here! Why am I SOOOOO excited for today you might ask? Well, because my most anticipated premiere of the fall is tonight. While I love shows like 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, The Office, and others, they’re not really coming close to my anticipation of tonight. Why, you might ask? What premieres tonight? Well, folks, I’ll tell you. As much love as I have for those shows, I have more love for New York.



The premiere I speak of is, of course, I Love New York 2. Now, I’ve already admitted my love for all things VH1. I even watched the premiere of America’s Most Smartest Model last night, which, sadly, did not live up to the trash content I usually like from a VH1 show. But there’s a special place in my heart for I Love New York. Mainly, because, well, I kinda feel bad for her.

I mean, look at her track record. She goes on Flavor of Love 1. Everyone hates her. Flav keeps her to the end, but eventually chooses Hoopz over her. No one liked her, but you still usually feel bad for the girl who makes it to the end and gets rejected. And she got spit on by Pumkin.

Jump forward a year, Flavor of Love 2 comes rolling on. Half way through, Flav brings New York in to judge the new girls. Feelings return and he asks her to stay around. She makes it to the end again. Flav rejects her AGAIN. Now, I know she’s crazy, but you’ve got to start feeling bad for this girl.

Finally, New York gets her own chance (pun intended, since ILNY1 runner up was Chance) to find love. She ends up picking Tango, who proposes to her on the spot. Everything looks mildly happy. Cue the reunion show, where she and tango are finally reunited (and it feels so good). Well, that is until Tango tells her that what he saw of her on the show has shown him the real her and he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. That makes three strikes now for New York. I mean, at this point, I wanna go give her a hug and be her knight in shining armor (maybe even blinged armor). She certainly needs one.

So now we’re at I Love New York 2, where I truly hope she actually finds someone who wants to be with her, whether it be contestants like Pretty, 20 Pack, or, my early favorite, Midget Mac, who is, in fact, a little person.



But even if she doesn’t find love, which I genuinely hope she does, even if the show, like her hair and breasts, is fake, I know it’ll be a hilarious ride, featuring New York meltdowns, drunken shenanigans, and Sister Patterson’s forehead, which appears to have gone into hiding in publicity photos.

But really, I mean, after last season, I’m a little worried that they can only go down. I mean, season one was so ridiculously amazing with idiots like Chance, Romance (the one who bawled every time New York’s dog, Princess, made an appearance), T-Weed (Who claimed he was a millionaire but in reality his last job was at a Munchie’s Pizza in 2002), Pootie (Who had a nervous breakdown and was apparently on the run from creditors), and 12 Pack and Heat (One of who worked as a dancer at a gay bar, the other who had a severe man crush on the dancer). Seriously, can you really go up from these guys?

So yeah, there’s not a doubt in my mind that I will be tuned in tonight at 9 (EST), and every Monday until New York and Sister Patterson’s forehead finally find that compatible thug for her. And, should she fail again, she can always get my number. Call me, New York. I’ve got love for you.


PS: VH1, Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get Sister Patterson: Matchmaker or Sister Patterson: Couple’s Counselor? Honestly, it would be amazing.

Whoops, My Bad....

Guys, sorry. I just realized that I totally forgot to tell you guys that 30 Rock premiered last Thursday, Friday Night Lights premiered last Friday, and Life Is Wild premiered last night (Sunday). I hope you weren't counting on me to remind you. But yeah, my bad. Sorry.

Wednesday Premieres

So, tonight is the big night. The premiere of what is hands down the best new show of the season is tonight.

Pushing Daisies: It hasn't even premiered, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is one of, if not THE, best show on network television and certainly my favorite. Not only does it not look like anything you've ever seen before on television, it doesn't even act like its on television at times. It's like it jumped out of a book of fairy tales, and I know that sentence may make me sound like a ten year old girl, but that's really what the show is. A dream-like fairy tale. I can only beg of you to watch it, simply so that it doesn't get cancelled quick, as happens to most other shows I love this much (ahem Wonderfalls ahem)

South Park: Everyone's favorite foul-mouthed fourth graders are back tonight. Tonight's plot revolves around Cartman pretending to have Tourette's so he can say whatever he wants. Sounds like genius, and I mean that in full sincerity.

If, for some reason, you don't like me and aren't going to watch Daisies, which, I repeat, you totally should be watching, also for on tonight for your viewing pleasure are America's Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Kid Nation, Dirty Sexy Money, and Bionic Woman. Enjoy, but if you're watching Pushing Daisies, I know you will. So watch it.

Tuesday Premieres

Yup, there's still season premieres to be, well, premiered:

Carpoolers: This is a new sitcom on ABC. I'm not particularly interested in it. But if you're in love with Jerry O'Connell or something like that, then this show is PERFECT for you. Otherwise, reviews seem to be of the "stay away" nature.

Also of note, tonight marks the continuation of the decline of Western civilization. That's right people, Cavemen premieres tonight. The foul taste of the original pilot is still in my mouth after 3 months and many repeated watchings of the Pushing Daisies pilot. That's how bad it was. Apparently, they did a good deal of reworking. I'm pretty sure the only way they could rework this to be watchable is if they, you know, completely re-did the concept and writing of the show, or, yeah, pretty much everything.

If you rightly choose to stay away from Cavemen and choose to not watch Carpoolers (I can't say rightly because I haven't seen it), tonight also boasts the season finale of Eureka and the continuing seasons of Damages, Beauty and the Geek, NCIS, Reaper, House, Boston Legal, and Law and Order SVU. Happy tubing...

Monday Premieres

Tonight brings new episodes of two comedies on the CW:

Everybody Hates Chris: I’m still a fan of this show, even if it can be a tad repetitive in its general premise and stuff. But tonight brings Chris Rock finally guesting on the show, so that should be a good time.

Aliens In America: I started to watch the pilot of this a while ago but stopped at about the 10-minute mark because I just really wasn’t feeling it. They’ve done a bunch of recasting and its getting really good reviews.

If you’re still boycotting the CW for canceling Veronica Mars, you could watch Weeds, Prison Break, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, Chuck, or Journeyman instead. Really, what is TV but a provider of a wide variety of entertainments? Enjoy your experience…

Sunday Premieres

While it’s no longer premiere week, tonight boasts 5 returning shows worth mentioning, so I thought I’d let you know who’s making their first weekly reappearance in your homes…

Dexter: America’s favorite serial killer is back tonight. When I originally watched the first episode I didn’t dig it that much, but upon rewatching it this summer, I actually discovered what an awesome show it is. That actually is the case with a bunch of other shows that I now love too (for example, House and How I Met Your Mother both didn’t wow me the first time around). I’ve seen the first two episodes of this season, and boy, they do still rock. Especially the end of episode one, which will be the event to propel the season forward. So watch this.

Desperate Housewives: Welcome back to Wisteria Lane. This show had a really good first season, a dismal second one, and a meh third one. There’s a decent chance I’ll abandon this one if it looks to be going downhill. Tonight brings the introduction of the first gay couple on Wisteria lane who play foils to the town skeleton, Teri Hatcher, as well as a few veteran TV actors playing a new family. Yay for Nathan Fillion getting work…

Brothers and Sisters: I gotta say, it’s really a tossup for my favorite new show from last season. Sometimes I think it’s Heroes, other times I think it’s this one. The Walker family returns tonight and sees Justin coming back from war injured, Kitty doing things that will most likely aggravate me, and some other dramatic stuff. I actually do like this show; don’t let the blurb mislead you.

American Dad: I’m kind of ashamed to say that I watch this show occasionally. It’s really not very good, yet I still watch it. I don’t know why. So, yeah, may or may not watch this one.

Brotherhood: I tried to get into Brotherhood. I really did. I recognize that it’s a really good show, which is why I’m mentioning it here. I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe some other time.

If none of these float your boat, you’ve got the continuing seasons of The Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Robot Chicken tonight. But the show that I KNOW I will be watching is the season finale of Rock of Love. Will it be Heather, the 32 year old stripper with a healthy appetite and not enough foresight to get Bret Michael’s name tattooed on the back of her neck, or Jes, the younger, prettier, pink haired girl who wasn’t going to be eliminated but got a reprieve when another girl dropped out (cough cough Heather). The suspense is killing me. That and the alcohol poisoning one gets simply from watching the show. But how I love it…

Friday Premieres

There's only two premieres tonight of note, so this is a short one.

Moonlight: The most re-jiggered pilot of the fall season premieres tonight. It sounds a little bit like Angel, but CBS-ified. I'll give it a look because I like Sophia Myles and out of allegiance, I'll watch most anything with an alum of Veronica Mars (That'd be Jason Dohring in this one).

Las Vegas: This is my guilty pleasure show (Well, really, one of many). I know it's not particularly good, but I still watch it and enjoy it. I think it may because it embraces its inner cheesiness, just like the city it's about. Plus, its got a lot of purdy people in it. Although, I'm a little concerned that James Caan's not gonna be around this season. Nothing against but Tom Selleck, but Tom Selleck, you are no James Caan.

Yeah, and thus ends premiere week. I hope you all found which new shows and returning favorites you'll be watching. Just leave a spot open for Pushing Daisies which starts next Wednesday. You best be watching…


Also, I'd just like to thank the recent mass influx of visitors who have pushed this blog over the 10000 hit mark. I know like 80% of you stayed for less than 5 seconds (according to my stat counter, its actually 69.9%, (Hee Hee, 69) with another 13.9% staying for less than 30 seconds), but I still am overjoyed to see that that many people have stopped by even for a second to see me ramble about TV. So thanks, it means alot to me. Some more comments would be nice though, but we'll work on that in what will hopefully be many more hits to come...
